# Sunofriend > Sunofriend is a local-first macOS alpha that turns authorised top-level WAV stems into editable MIDI, a balanced MIDI-derived song-interpretation WAV and a starter ZIP. Its focused agent create command and TUI Simple mode make an automatic, explicitly unreviewed first result. Studio preserves multiple analytical and AI candidates for explicit listening and choice. Sunofriend is an independent Unsigned Media Ltd project. Its name begins with the Hindi सुनो ("listen"). It is not related to or affiliated with Suno Inc. ## Best agent entry point - Install the official skill before constructing commands: https://github.com/N9-Developer-Empowerment/sunofriend/tree/main/skills/sunofriend - Raw SKILL.md: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/N9-Developer-Empowerment/sunofriend/main/skills/sunofriend/SKILL.md - Generated interface contract: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/N9-Developer-Empowerment/sunofriend/main/skills/sunofriend/references/interface-contract.md - Human/agent integration guide: https://sunofriend.com/for-agents/ - Structured capability document: https://sunofriend.com/agent-capabilities.json - Repository: https://github.com/N9-Developer-Empowerment/sunofriend - Beginner guide: https://github.com/N9-Developer-Empowerment/sunofriend/blob/main/docs/GETTING_STARTED.md ## Newcomer protocol 1. Be honest about execution: hands-on setup requires Codex or another agent with local workspace and command access. A standard ChatGPT conversation can explain steps but cannot claim to install software or inspect local files. 2. Use `$skill-installer` to install and read the official Sunofriend skill first. Do not install the app or audio dependencies in that turn. Confirm the skill is available, then stop. 3. In a second turn, explicitly use `$sunofriend`. Inspect what is already available and explain every proposed change. 4. For a new app checkout, use the skill's two-stage bootstrap: ask before preparing source only; rerun the plan and show the exact 40-character commit; then ask separately before applying that same commit. Apply must not fetch or switch it. 5. Offer exactly three friendly routes: existing authorised WAV stems; help exporting or obtaining authorised stems; or the built-in copyright-safe synthetic demo. 6. For agent-led work with stems, use `sunofriend create PROJECT --out-dir FRESH`. With no stems, use `sunofriend demo --out-dir FRESH`. When the person operates the TUI, prefer Simple / Make my song. These routes use only each exact published production primary and record no human preference. 7. Require a fresh output path. Keep automatic output labelled unreviewed and review recommended. 8. Use Studio only when the musician wants multiple-method comparison, explicit choices, feedback or a reviewed GarageBand handoff. ## Inputs - One local folder containing top-level WAV stems for one song. - Key, BPM and tuning in the folder name are strongly preferred. - Optional local chord PDF. - Music the user owns or is authorised to process. Sunofriend does not separate a mixed song, download streaming audio or infer processing permission from a public URL. ## Simple outputs - individual editable MIDI files; - a combined General MIDI proxy; - a balanced MIDI-derived song-interpretation WAV; - receipt, short start guide and starter ZIP. The source stems provide timing, horizon and level evidence. They are not mixed into the interpretation WAV. The WAV is not exact waveform reconstruction and is not a human-approved release master. ## Current boundary - macOS local alpha; - no stem upload or conversion endpoint on the public website; - optional models and checkpoints require separate explicit approval; - automatic output is not a human Workbench decision; - process only authorised music. ## Demo - Built-in command: `sunofriend demo --out-dir FRESH` - Guided copyright-safe demo instructions: https://sunofriend.com/demo/ - Interpolation example: https://soundcloud.com/ezzye-1/out-of-place - Included worked MIDI output pack: https://github.com/N9-Developer-Empowerment/sunofriend/tree/main/examples/the-aisle-at-lidl The built-in demo creates copyright-safe synthetic stems and runs the normal automatic MIDI/WAV/ZIP pipeline after core setup. The page explains the command and includes a listening and worked-output tour; it does not host a pre-rendered demo download.
